What do you think??
Guys what a brutal auction draft.....
When went in thinking i will load up on WR' Get a Good QB & T.E and take what RB's i can get??
1. QB's Drew Brees.. I really wanted him or Romo Or Brady Brees went for 15 dollars Romo 42 Brady 50
2. Pick Matt Leinart as my backup
3. Wanted to Gets two stud WRY Got T.O. for 40 dollars maybe to much Also got Brylon Edwards for 25 , Brandon Marshall for 15 and Kevin Curtis for 3
4. Wanted Wittten for my T.E. but he went for 32 dollars to rich ended up with Gates for 25 which was to much but got caught up in bidding
5. My weakest position again are my RB's Got Brandon Jacobs for 15 dollars, Thomas J for 15 dollars, Matt Forte for 6 dollars and Jonathan Stewart for one dollar.. I know i could be in deep trouble with my RB's unless BJ & TJ come around
6. Kicker Graham which was ok
7. D was Giants
tell me your thoughts LT, AP, Westy Addia all went for 90 dollars to rich for me..
Guys that went undrafted Chris Johnson, Ricky Williams, All of the Texans RB's Chris perry Kevin Jones??
Wow, you can tell I wasn't a part of that draft...no way would Chris Johnson go undrafted!
I like your team overall. You could get burned at RB, but if TJ does what he's capable of, he could be your #1. Your WRs are fantastic (assuming you start 2). Marshall will be back in time for your bye weeks and you won't lose much, if any production. If Gates is healthy, you got a great TE too.
I LOVE the Brees pick...tremendous value there.
I like the D and kicker also.
You can't have a top player at all positions...you did good.
thaas -- I echo Dave's comments. I love your draft. As Dave said, you can't have a strength in every position. I just participated in an auction draft & was very pleased at what I did, but I have a weakness myself at TE. It can't be helped.
I am a HUGE Drew Brees fan -- I think you got the best QB per dollar without a doubt.
T.O. & Braylon Edwards are 2 Top 5 WRs...you are loaded there.
If TJ & Brandon Jacobs stay healthy, you have capable RBs to round out your team. It isn't a strength, but last season proved you can win fantasy football leagues with great QBs & WRs.
You also have a Top 5 D, Top 3 TE, & Top 5 Kicker.
I really like your team. Now both of us need to keep our fingers crossed & hope that TJ can improve on last season & get in the end zone. I think he can. I believe you have one of the teams to beat in your league.
Nice job, thaas.
Thanks Guys... I can drop people before the season would you guys pickup either Chris Johnson, Perry, Ricky, i would have to drop Stewart??
I would take Chris Johnson immediately...but that's just me.
So you would drop Stewart???
I think you did a great job. Every position is solid and if Marshall takes off after his suspension, maybe you can trade him and one of your rb's for a better starting rb. Edwards and TO will be fantastic and Curtis will provide enough depth.
Thanks Much!!!
Considering there's risk with both, I couldn't blame you for holding onto Stewart. He hasn't shown much yet, but he is still injured and he'll get goal line touches when healthy (if he improves when healthy).
I can't add anything that different, but I think you did great. I love everyone, except maybe your RB's...but they are loaded with potential. If they live up to it and have a solid year I think you will be tough to beat.
Thanks Guys!!!
thaas -- See that...you impressed all of us regulars at ownersboxsports.com. You are the man!
My two cents is that I wouldn't change a thing. I like Jonathan Stewart slightly better than Chris Johnson. So, I would maintain status quo.
What you might want to do soon (not now) is make a trade like Faulk suggested. You could probably afford to get rid of Brandon Marshall & get a quality RB to upgrade that position. Something like Jacobs & Marshall for Marshawn Lynch & a lower-tier WR. (for example).
For now, I wouldn't change a thing. I think you drafted great. Your entire team is elite except for your RBs...and I believe TJ could give you GREAT value at one of your RB positions. I'm really thinking the 2008 Jet offense will be MUCH better than the 2007 Jet offense.
Thanks to the Crystal ball.. Thanks Jetman
