Merriman's career may be over

Profootballtalk.com is reporting that it is hearing whispers from team sources that linebacker Shawne Merriman's career may be in jeopardy. He recently was forced to visit Dr. James Andrews again due to reoccurring issues with his knee.

I don't think this is true, but what if.. What a blow??

If true, this is a big blow indeed. It seems to be rumor & innuendo at this point, though. He is a big part of the stout San Diego Defense.

He had "routine" clean up on his knee in the offseason and went back today because he still has a good amount of discomfort from what I've heard and read.

If it's true that his career may be over, SDs defense would drop to just a solid unit in fantasy rather than an elite one. I hope for his sake it is just a rumor, he has a lot of talent.

I'd have to side with it just being a rumor as well. I can't think of any kind of injury that would put Merriman out for his career considering some of the injuries others have come back from....

i read he(merriman) was concerned that he still had so much soreness, & He decided to have it checked out with the Big Wig Andrews, IMO that tells me he is concerned??Which could mean nothing or??
