Sweet 16 NCAA Picks from jetsjetsjets' Crystal Ball

I just wanted to do my first blog on the "New & Improved" Ownersboxsports.com. As many of you know, my Crystal Ball loves to make predictions. He has his Sweet 16 NCAA Tournament Picks ready to go! I have to make this one quick as I am doing this on my lunch hour at work. However, everyone will see much more of the Crystal Ball in the coming weeks/months. We will write a more detailed blog on our Final Four Thoughts/Selections:

East: Pitt 76 Xavier 69 -- Sam Young & Co. too much for the scrappy Musketeers

Same Ole' T.O. ???

Photobucket Just saw that the Buffalo Bills reported today for the start of off season conditioning workouts but a certain player is nowhere to be seen so far. While Terrell Owens is known for staying in great condition, you would think he would meet up today with the rest of his new team. And while I think T.O.

Flyers-Penguins... Playoff Preview?

Today's NBC game of the week pitted the teams from last season's Eastern Conference Finals, Philly and Pittsburgh live from the Igloo. The Flyers were able to get the win, 3-1 over a Pens teams that was going into the day 8-0-2. Philly took advantage of the power-play with Simon Gagne going to the net nicely to get the first goal of the game. Scott Hartnell made it 2-zip Fly guys, redirecting a puck into the net with his skate.

The Madness Begins

Photobucket Wake Forest is done. The Demon Deacons, who just a couple months ago stood atop the rankings of the best teams in land, suffered a 84-69 thumping that left their faithful disheartened and many 'bracketolists' scratching out a sweet 16 spot. Wake Forest fans were not alone however as the ACC took it on the chin in the opening stanza of the tournament. Also sent packing (by lower seeded teams) were Florida State, Clemson, and Boston College. Of those games, Cleveland State's upset was the most shocking development as they destroyed a Wake Forest team that finished 24-7 including victories over both North Carolina and Duke. Yes, the #13 Vikings of Cleveland State eased their foot into Cinderella's slipper yesterday and have no intentions of taking it off anytime soon. Often times, teams take on the personality of their coach and the Vikings are no different as they scratch and claw very much like their fiery coach, Gary Waters. They now move on to face a talented Arizona (#12) squad, which has faced its share of adversity this season yet remains in the tourney after pulling of an upset of their own over #5 Utah, 84-71. Be sure to tune in for that match-up. There were also other upsets including Dayton, W. Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Sienna. Clearly, the Madness has begun.

Andy Reid: "I like our receivers"

While many in and around Philly have lambasted Big Red for the Eagles shortcomings and a good deal have called for him to be fired, I've defended the guy over and over. That isn't to say that I haven't had my doubts about decisions he's made such as the benching of McNabb in the Baltimore game last season and the how he had someone else break the news to Donovan. Still, it's hard to argue with AR's results as he's won more games than any head coach in Eagles history.
